Re: bitless bridle

Hi, there.  I find the whole concept of "bitless bridles" a bit confusing, as there seem to be so many different kinds on the market.

I have one which is just a noseband, really, which attaches via rings to the cheek pieces, and then there are two other rings, which attach to the nose.  Zero control, but a nice, kind bridle to hack out in, if you know your horse will stop if asked.  It fits in the same place as a cavesson, so doesn't interfere with the jaw in the way a flash would, and when fitted, I can put the fingers of both hands inside it.  Admittedly, I am probably not fitting it correctly, but I'm not after control, just an alternative to a headcollar for a leisurely stroll!

Is what I have a side-pull?

I had a look at the picture of the bitless bridle which someone (can't remember who) posted yesterday.  It's way too confusing for me.

I won a bitless bridle and it works well as far as control but my horse can't eat w/ it as tight as its supposed to be.  if I loosen the noseband it dosnt have the same effect (control) and he can eat but I might as well be riding in a halter.
anyone else have this problem?
