hard keeper

My daughters mare is a hard keeper...............but faithfully lugging bags and bags of beetpulp and feed out

every week, we have managed to get her to where she looks okay, but still no real layer over the ribs.

Try to envision half a oil drum, half filled with soaked beet pulp, pellets, grain and oil..........leave overnight for two horses, gone in morning along with 3 flakes each alfalfa (rest of day they have PASTURE; grass hay and oat

hay).  What finally added the weight to this mare was not riding her for two weeks...............teeth done in spring, consistent worming.....sigh

 

I have heard very good things about Ration Plus.  Anyone use it?  Any other miracle potions we can try?
