Re: RC: Re:overweight an issue? - Weight vs. lean mass

Hi Sheila
You are really right on with the lean to fat mass part. I'm slender but
I went to my naturalpathic doctor and chiro and he told me I had too
much fat. I was shocked as I'm 5'7" and 114 lbs! I wear anywhere from a
size 6 to a size 8 depending on the price of the outfit (isn't that the
truth!). Sure enough he did a fat test and I was at 25%; the assistant
said that is the national average so I started to get smug until he
pointed out to me that as thin as I was, I should be at 18 or so----
tooo much fat and not enough muscle! I was spending all my time on the
computer doing web sites, etc. He put me on a walking regime and now we
live on hills and my girls are gone so it is all me for feeding, sh--
shoveling etc. Still not what I'd call fit--- my daughters with their
health club workouts put me to shame soooo looks are very deceiving and
you certainly cannot tell how fit someone is by the size of their pants!
Ummmmmm, I wonder what Claudia Shiffer's fat ratio is???<BG>
