Points taken. Our horses have a mid 50's angle in front and slightly steeper 
in back. Their soles are not hollowed out.  But what do you think about 
trimming to land flat vs. trimming to make the hoof symmetrical? I would opt 
for land flat, but then the coffin bone isn't in the same orientation as the 
hoof(or is it?). Again, I would be curious as to how a free roaming horse's 
feet would wear to make up for the conformation flaw. Our ground isn't hard 
enough to let the horse 'self trim'.
