Re: Jihad's first 50!



I'm gathering the ride you went to was BVS and also assuming it was as hot
and tough as I remember---so congratulate yourself on Jihad's first ride not
being a creampuff and that he was basically okay.  Alot of the problems you
describe will take care of themselves as the horse gets more experience.

In the meantime, consider trying to get some beet pulp into him for several
days prior to the ride, possibly more small doses of e'lytes along the trail
as long as he keeps drinking, keep riding conservatively and wait for
experience and conditioning to kick in.  :-)
