RC: Re: Stallion behavior

Just could not help saying: AFTER RAISING 3 SONS.... each of them very
different.... one of them was the most naughty.. and he would provoke you
until he got spanked.... yeah I was not going to yell at my kids or spank
unless absolutly necessary... HOWEVER, he would sure straighten up after a
spanking... not a beating.... That son, an adult now, has been more
respectful to me than the other 2 who hardly needed more than verbal
discipline... UNTIL the hormones hit.... BUT the discipline must be
gauged to the offense and try to get the child to learn in the processs....
but all of this is a process whether horses or humans.. and we learn from
each other...... Not all humans are compatible and not all horse/human
combinations are either.. To extrapolate further..... I see alot of young
people who have not had proper discipline to learn there are consequences to
ones actions and I see them out of control and irresponsible..... As we keep
our horses in less than normal settings, then the effort should be made to
develop them slowly so the extreme tactics don't need to be used and give
them something closer to a 'normal' horse environment---especially other
horse company for the stalllions .. it did wonders for mine.... Mary Ann
