RC: Re: Stallion behavior

My dresssage instructor introduced me and my stallion to a plastic baseball
bat when he was 4 and it really did help. Part of it is the noise. BTW,
when my stallion was 1yo he was gentle as a lamb... when hormones hit at 2..
WHEW.. but at that time I was doing desert storm so he was a little
neglicted... acts ok until another horse is around. Rode him a couple of
endurance rides when he was 4 and mostly keep to ourselves.. waited for the
first ones to leave.. on the 2nd ride a little old man on a huge gelding
insisted on tailing us... as my stallion is going sideways and backwards
trying to figure out what is going on.. well, I told him this was green
stallion... he ok.. he is on gelding... so after about 45 minutes my guy
accepted it and went on more willingly.. don't know if the little old man
finished.. as we were over the allowed time.. but we we mainly there for the
training.. The dman fool came in whinneying like crazy after being ridden
for 7 hours and being lunged for 30 minutes at the gallop before the ride..
he has settled down a whole lot since then... Mary Ann
