If it's being fed with a relatively low protein grass hay, then the protein would probably balance out about right---but you also have to pay attention to balancing calcium and phosphorus in the ration, etc. I'd be interested to know the fat source and how they are able to keep it from going rancid, as 12% is fairly high in a feed. Given the heat in your area, I'd be concerned about oxidation.
