Re: Re: 25 mile ride

Um

A 'newbie' over here recently posted for advice on her first ER ride a 20
pleasure and was told she shouldnt refer to it as 'proper' endurance 'cos of
the distance.

How very of putting for her as first inquiry. Personally I think a 20
pleasure for some one whose only (metaphorically) riden round the block must
be as big an achivement for them personally as a 100 completion for a well
seasoned campagner at 100 mile level.

its all subjective.

Here in the Uk the emphasis is very much on do 50 - 100 to be credible, and
yet the bulk of entrys are for the lower milege classes which very much
subsidise the elite few at 100. If its the same in the US maybe it would pay
to be nice to these guys, not condecending?
