Re: Endurance Training

My first endurance "mount" was a mule...I was about two miles from the
finish on one of our first 25's ...we were in third place...and Elivira
decided she'd had enough and she was hungry....so she headed off up the hill
to a patch of green grass and that was that...the only way I could get any
forward movement was by beating on the paper number that was pinned on the
back of my shirt with a stick---the sound of my hitting the paper was enough
to elicit movement at least to the next patch of grass...we eventually came
trotting across the finish line with me beating on my back as hard and fast
as I could with the stick! You have to be very creative when asking a mule
to do something that they would rather not do!
