Deb Bennet and Amblin-Rackin-barbs,etc

Ray O'Donohue rno2m@virginia.edu
With all due respect to Deb Bennet,a lot of this ancestral detective work is pretty futile,an attempt to quantify the unquantifiable. As she points out in "Conquerors",many non-American folks refer to horses by "type" rather than by "breed"(read-"registering club").By the way,she says that the vast majority of under-saddle horses in history have been gaited. Also according to Bennet,it was the "High Dressage"(my term,read-impractical)school of cavalry that brought the 3-gaited horse out from under the buggy and to the fore-for some!
