RE: Class C Motor Homes & Towing

Title: Class C Motor Homes & Towing
Jennifer and I tow a two horse steel Silverado that has electric trailer brakes with our 23-24 foot Jamboree Searcher built by Fleetwood I believe.  It is built on the Ford E350 Van platform with dual rear wheels and has a welded draw-tite hitch.  We had the rear suspension rebuilt and added an extra leaf for greater support and installed Bilstein shocks all the way around.  It tows the trailer at 70 mph comfortably with the unmodified 460 cu. inch engine.  Jennifer just got back from Bend Oregon and had no problems after driving the 2,400 miles.

We feel that having the RV is more comfortable than the living quarters in a gooseneck trailer and the RV can be used for non-horse activities, as if we have time for them.  The only draw back is we need to drive the Jeep if we want a crew vehicle.
