You're right, Echo--while the Arab averages a higher percentage of suitable 
candidates, there are great individuals of MANY breeds, and Arabs that 
certainly are NOT suited to the sport!  You need the TRAITS that are 
necessary for endurance, no matter in what breed they occur.
