Re: RC: Old Dominion?

Colleen,

The Old Dominion is the equivalent of the Tevis, but
on the East coast. It is as tough (or sometimes
arguably tougher) than the Tevis. The heat and
humidity is always a killer and it is often the first
hot spell of the year for many of the northern horses
- they aren't acclimated yet. The climbs just keep
coming at you, right up to the last mountain to climb
just 5 miles from the finish.

It takes place around the Fort Valley of Virginia,
near Front Royal and Luray VA. It is in the NW corner
of VA in the mountains. Beautiful, challenging
terrain that makes for one heck of a ride.

It seems that we don't have as many techies here, so
there's no web coverage. I wish there was! Of
course, it might be a trick getting an uplink around
there because of the the mountains...
