When we went looking, we found that the bed's payload was vastly increased with a dually. If you are going to be pulling a gooseneck, this makes a difference. If you are pulling a tag-a-long trailer, then the dually didn't seem to affect the total towing capacity. I have to use my truck as a commuting vehicle as well as for towing. At the time, I parked in the inner city in a parking garage. I would have NEVER it into a space with a dually. As it is, I had a choice of two spaces that I fit into since I got the 3/4 ton crew cab & full length bed. Lastly, I found that the turn radius was a little poorer with a dually vs standard axle. Hope this helps a little.
