Re: RC: Trail Courtesy

My horses sound like yours, especially my husbands mare, she can eat
anything! Will use your trick the next time this happens when I'm on board
one of our steeds. The gelding I ride is a giant of a horse and scares
'horse people' with his size (17hh 1500#) so he naturally scares people who
are sitting in cars or on bikes. He's easy (now),,,it's taken a few years.
It's the Sunday rides when I'm riding 'unseasoned' horses that situations
arise. Working with and riding these inexperienced horses is always
delightfully fun, not to mention exciting.
I love getting them into situations where they learn to trust my decisions
and it's easy to earn trust on the trail and less used roads. Knowing the
horses have to learn about traffic and the activity that goes with it is why
we ride this particular back road that is shared by 'all'. Don't think
Dukie Boy is ready to stop traffic just yet, but will tell him your story so
he knows what is in store for him. He's a brave lad, but still has a baby
brain.

Again, loved your story.
