Re: Dog gone...

Yeah Sandy, I totally agree with you, re: dogs. Every now and then I
would take my little dog with me...but....She was always in a pen or on a
leash. She was actually a pain in the butt...but, my husband didnt like her
much and she wouldnt listen to him. Sooooo she came to the rides with me.
I cant understand why people think that their dogs are so darn special that
they should have the run of the camp/vet checks. When Im working on peoples
horses..at their homes even....I ask them to remove their dogs from the area
where Im working. It is the pits to be working on a cranky or spooky horse
and go to back away from the horse and fall over a darn dog. Better yet, to
have the horse step on the dog and all hell breaks loose with me standing on
my stool. Im a dog lover, but..there is a time and a place for them and
running loose in camp isnt one of those times. I remember a couple of
rottweilers running off with my dinner one time. They took the dang steak
right off the camp stove and ate the pot of beans too!! Pissed me off big
time!!!!!!! The people camped next to me shared their dinner with me. I
still hope those dogs burned their noses real good. :-) Another fun thing
is when the male dogs come over and pees on your hay, saddle, buckets etc.
I wanted to KILL an aussie mix at one ride. Hmmmm I have quite a few dog
stories now that I think about it. I wont bother y'all with it tho. Thanks
for letting me vent on one of my pet peaves. Gesa
