RC: Re: Temporary move -- with horse

I have to be brave enough to tell you I don't. If our horse are on full
hearty pasture, and getting sufficient exercise, and carrying the right
amount of weight and muscle, we don't suppliment until several days before a
race, or anytime during travel. We suppliment more for a 5 day than a 1
and we just do not do 100's too much jwork for our old bodies. we are not
very speed competitive, but we do have very high milage horses.

Meryben Stover, and Rick Appleton, are the riders I left my horse with. I am
sure Becky Hart is another option.

Joan Ruprecht (me 11,000+, C-Bows 6100, Nisaba 4,000+; Feather 1000+ and
going strong!!) Don't let the suppliment sellers hear this!) My farRier is
a non prestigious old codger just like us, He is great with the horses, does
what is asked, is reasonable, and my shoes stay on and my horses stay sound.
I use aluminum shoes, green pads and clips if available. Should I lose a
shoe and I have I have an Easyboot at the vet check. I have never measured
a cannon bone, all my horses are size one shoes. All my horses are mixed
breeds, going from1/2 to 3/4 Arab, they are all sweet. Except for Feather
(too excitable for a kid-maybe when she gets over 20) any kid age 4 or older
can ride safely. We keep our horses and ride them at least socially until
they are 30+. All of the oldies have enjoyed carring the gandkid a few
(12-16) miles at a reasonable pace. Louis (at 7) did his first25 on our
they 27 year old, his sister Sara, also at age 7 did her first 25 and one
month later her first 50 on our 22 year old mare.
