A question about Nat. Championship Series Rides

When Russ and I imported the aerc ride results into the on-line version

some riders appeared to be getting double credit for certain rides.

These turned out to be riders who were listed in a regular ride and the 
national series championship ride on the same date.  The aerc 
records were treating them as different rides.

Looking at a few samples - everyone entered in the nsc ride was also
entered
in the same day regular ride - or the nsc ride was a subset of the
regular ride.

Is this always true that for a rider to be in the NSC ride - they also
have 
to be in the regular ride?

If so we need to treat the nsc rides as duplicates and not count the
miles 
twice.
