Child safe horse wanted in NE Ohio

Hi everybody. I am looking to buy a child safe horse, not a pony. I live in 
Medina, Ohio. That's just West of Akron Ohio. I have a 9 yr. old daughter who 
wants to do trails like I do. I don't care what breed or gender the horse is 
as long as it's healthy and sound and will take care of my kid.  I don't want 
anything that has foundered  or has had leg problems obviously. I also don't 
want anything that will die in a year. : )  
I am ready to buy but my price range is $2,000.00 and under. I know that's 
not much but it's all I can offer.  Could anyone help me out? Do you have one 
or someone you know have one? This horse will have a VERY loving and caring 
home. I have 2 arabs, a mom and her 2 yr. old baby. I ride my mare on trail 
and love to condition her for all of the 2 or 3 competitive rides that come 
up in my area. The horse we will buy for my daughter will be going to lessons 
 every week so this horse needs to be able to trailer. We have our horses 
here at home. 
We keep running into great horses but lame ones. I know this is going to be a 
long journey but I'm enjoying trying out all these horses. Thank you for your
