Publishing pull results

Valorie Weizer Valncopper@hotmail.com
Just to add my oppinion to the list. Having the complete ride
results available is a very good thing. We need to have the
ability to check our records since they already keeping them
at AERC. If you want to sell, buy a horse or compete at the
international level or just check to see if you are close to a
milage goal, you call up AERC and ask for the records. It used
to be a surprise weather your results were recorded accurtatly
or not. You have 30 days to check the record and make
corrections. Pull reasons were recorded in AERC records
but not printed in EN. So you had no way of checking and
correcting these records. After that they do not change
results. I will give a little example. We were pulled for OT
from our (mine and Coppers) first 100 miler and I had the vet
check my horse just becuase I am somewhat anal and over protective
of my boy. He had galloped the past 5 miles and I do mean dead gallop
at 3:30 in the morning after being out there since 4:30 am the
previous day when I had started warming him up. We had already
been pulled when I asked for a curtesy check. The veterinarian
(a very poor example and one who will never be invited back to that
ride according to ride mgmt) wrote lame on my ride card and did
not look at my horse. Said he was fine get in the trailer. I
found out later about the lame written on my ride card. Several
years later and much more experienced I decide to try international
competition. One of the requests on the application is the horses
ride history. So I send to AERC for Coppers records and low and
behold here is a lameness pull for my horse. It was past time to
be able to correct it and it is still there for anyone to check.
And yes now its a big deal to me. Being able to make corrections
to important documents is absolutely essential. At that time there
was no way to check the horses records. This is a step in the
right direction. Val n Copper
