RE: RC: KILLER HORSES

I understand wanting to breed a horse to preserve something wonderful and
intangible in their beloved horses to pass on to future generations. That's
how "horse breeders" are born. There are a lot of backyard hobbyists
breeders and they contribute to the overall picture of what happened to the
crash in the Arabian market place, the overflow of Arabians not supported by
the market, and hence Arabian horses appearing in feedlots.

But you have a very special situation, with a lot of love and care where the
guy you bought your horse from was breeding for a very specific purpose.
You are very lucky to have his mare's last foal. And Souls Serenade is
lucky to have you, Renee.

All that is well and good, but how long can a breeder be that 'nice
person'
and stay in business, or even use it as a hobby, unless he/she has
 unlimited funds? >>

I'm not talking about breeders. I'm saying that I wouldn't have a horse
if
someone hadn't looked beyond her value and sold her for less. The guy
who
sold her isn't a breeder. He got her from his old endurance mare
(btw....who
did Tevis at 22....I always have to say that when I talk about her). My
mare
was his baby. The last of his mare's babies. She wasn't a product of
his
breeding business.
