Karahty - facts and misconceptions PLEASE READ!!

wendy Lumbert wendyl@jps.net
This is to address some of the outright lies that have been stated
over the last two days concerning Karahty and Dolly. I have never seen so much vicious slandering, lies and disrespect for
anyone in my life. Makes you wonder what inspires it - jealousy,
perhaps? I have ridden with Dolly and her 4 stallions for 6 years
now. Many times on a mare in heat. In back and two feet in front of the stallion - and never had a worry that he would misbehave.
I have watched her at the start of many rides, when each stallion stands in perfect control, surrounded by many other horses that are not!! You can find her at water stops in creeks
surrounded by other horses, still no misbehaving. Since you all
are so anxious to tell how awful Karahty and sons are - tell me
ONE incident where a rider or horse was injured. (I will address
the "mare raping" incident in a moment) NONE of Dolly's four
stallions kick, bite or otherwise exhibit any vices. NOW, I will
tell you why those that don't KNOW Dolly or her stallions often
perceive them as unruly - she lets them talk. Yes, they are
allowed to exercise their vocal cords. If you think that is awful
then don't breed to them. But DO NOT lie about them being
misbehaved - that is just YOUR perception about what is acceptable, and has nothing to do with whether or not they are
in control. I can assure you, those horses are in perfect control.
KERI must have a really poor memory as she states that she was at the ride where "Karahty got away and raped a mare."
Amazing memory. It was Amadeus, who was trailered to the ride with a mare, Audacity, who was in heat, and when tied next to her broke loose and bred her. The owner was not upset and has bred more than once to Karahty since then. It was an accident,
and obviously not the only one in this world.
ENDURES TOO FAR - Dolly never has and never will take
her stallion around to tease mares at a ride. If your mare responds to a stallion's voice that is hardly his fault. You won't
catch Dolly complaining if you stick your mare's butt in her
stallion's face, she just deals with it. I have been asked many
times by stallion owners to pull my mare off the trail so they can
get around. I have seen Dolly literally 100s of times pass other
horses on narrow trails and never once asked them to pull over
for her. Her boys might squeal, but they don't bite, kick or strike as they pass by. IF you are upset by the squealing maybe you
should ride drugstore ponies, they are nice and quiet.
Steven McCrary - if you are insinuating that the owner makes
her horses bad mannered you are right in principle but wrong if
you are applying this to Dolly. Energetic is not bad mannered.
NOW LISTEN UP!! If all you Dolly and Karahty slammers want to state some FACTS, then feel free. Otherwise, take your
nasty mouths somewhere else. If any of you had any inkling of
how nice Dolly is you would be ashamed of yourselves. She is
one of the kindest, humblest people I have ever known. She
loves her stallions enough to let them express themselves as
real stallions as long as they are not dangerous and in control.
By the way, anyone who seriously wants to see the quality
and temperament Karahty produces, you may contact me and
I will give you a list of 15 -20 of the nicest horses you have
ever seen. Beautiful, athletic, sweet-tempered sons and daughters of Karahty. If their owners were on ridecamp you would have heard from them. As it is, I can hardly stomach what
I've seen the last few days and won't be reading much of this
in the future myself. STEPH, I'm suprised you let this go on.
Don't you own a nice Karahty baby yourself?
