Fwd: RC: Re: best conditioned

This and other issues should ALWAYS be agreed upon before a ride. A rider on
a loner horse is not in a position to 'probably give' anything to the horse
owner, since even if the person borrowing the horse pays the fees for a ride,
the horse OWNER has paid the 'fees' consistenty to bring to the horse to this
point - feed, shoing, vet, everything. It would be generous and appropriate
for the horse owner to offer the completion award to the rider, but Best
Condition or anything else a result of teh very good maintenance of the
owner? Nope - our vote is with the owner. To me it would be a privilege alone
to ride someone else's well conditioned horse to such an honor, the award
belongs with the horse and owner.

Partly would depend also if the owner conditioned the horse for the ride..
If the owner conditioned the horse and I paid the entry fees then I would
still probably give the BC to the owner.
If I conditioned the horse and I paid the fees then I would keep the award.
If I conditioned the horse and the owner paid the entry fees, then the owner
would get the BC award. I would keep the top 10 and completion awards.
That is unless the owner paid me to ride the horse in the race and she/he
paid the entry fees. In that case the owner takes all except for possibly
the comletion award gesa
