FW: LDs and greater

Yup!! I started my gelding with a 50. Did a 25 the spring of El Nino
because I was bored silly, but he wasn't ready for a 50. I did only 50's
last season, but I am starting this season with a 25. This 25 will be my
first ride since my gelding recovered from a suspensory injury, plus I have
a new saddle and I want to get all the kinks out, and I think a 25 miler
entry fee is cheap vet advice. I do prefer 50's and am looking forward to
my first multi day ride, and 100 soon, but I have gotten a lot out of LDs.

The division line between LDs and greater distances appears to be a wide
chasm that riders feel that they can only cross in one direction. I like to
go back and forth between both. I took my husband's horse, who is a Top-10
50-mile competitor, to the Old Pueblo ride in Tucson last month and did the
25 with some friends, just for the fun of it-and we came in last! We had a
great time, it was a beautiful trail and the horses enjoyed it as much as we
did. - Jen Nice

Endurance has nothing to do with jumping. I have done both and they are
worlds apart. Your opinion may be valid but it is only your opinion and
does not make me irresponsible. I still would not start with LD and I don't
tell my students to do it either. By the way, three of them became AERC
National Junior Champions and one of them won the Haggin Cup this year at
