I have a 3 year old that I've started ponying 2-3 days per week. We are
only up to 2-5 miles at a time, but added some hill work this weekend.
 Does he need anything special?

I'm working under the presumption that adding only speed or distance, but
not both applies to ponying as well.

Vicki,

Right now I'm not the guy to ask. I'm still trying to figure out what
happened in Qatar. That one-rat-research suggests that we need big, skinny
horses with not an ounce of fat on their bodies. If it proves to be true, I'm
going to have to rethink everything. At this point, I'm researching, and the
evidence coming in seems to point in that direction.
