Ewwww, gross!  Forget vacuuming gophers, get a Jack Russel Terrier -- your 
lawn will never look the same, (in fact the damage will be worse than if 
you'd just let the gophers have their way) but you won't have to worry about 
vacuuming and turning gophers into liquid form (blech).
