I don't think I have been getting all the posts lately from Ridecamp so if
I missed one welcoming you to our sport and to ridecamp, my apologies. 
First of all, where the heck is Renee???  Probably out riding that new nag
of hers!!  :)  But I know she is in California and probably a good hook up
for you.  She is our "teen in residence" I guess you'd call her!  :) 
Starts some goofy threads and occasionally surprises us with her cognitive
abilities!  :)  As far as finding "a person" more experienced as you put
it... there are tons of people with tons of experiences here on ridecamp
and they love to share what they know....feel free to e-mail those
questions about ANYthing. Ever heard of beet pulp?  You will here.  Do you
know what LSD and IT stand for?  You'll learn here!  Want to know what
books about endurance to read?  Ask here and we can all give you our
favorites!!  The list goes on and on and on....oops.  Didn't mean to liken
ridecamp to the energizer bunny but if the paw/hoof/whatever fits...  So
now tell us about yourself and your horse.
