Get/borrow a livestock guardian dog (LGD).  Watch the dog eat the
varmints.  Violent enough?

We've got an Anatolian Shepherd (our second one), she's a pain in the
butt in some ways, but in the past 12 years of being protected by a LGD
we have no loss of small (or large) critters at all - except when we
were forced to keep our first Anatolian in the house due to
circumstances beyond our control.

If you can find someone who will loan you a LGD, you will have to have a
secure dog proof fence - LGDs will wander, especially if they borrowed
or new to you and therefore aren't "bonded" with your small critters.
They will also probably eat any other dogs you have unless you can keep
them away.  Lif
