I know the was said TIC, but it is a very real concern.
several years ago, a member of our group had a saddle slip under the horse's
belly which caused a wild, crazed running and bucking episode thru camp...
to make a long story short, his 5 yr old daughter was asleep in their tent,
which the horse (16+hands) mowed over. (this was one of the very flexible
dome tents - walmart variety) There were hoofprints on both sides of the
girl, one just inches from her head.... this is not second-hand
information, I was there, it still gives me cold chills, just repeating the
story.
I still used a tent for years, but I would clean out my trailer, lay down a
tarp and set the tent up inside the trailer. the two man dome tents will
fit in a standard two horse with the divider removed, and fit very nicely in
a stock trailer. it shapes them a little, but with the flexible poles, it
is no problem.
