RE:slide in camper V. gooseneck

I would not trade my camper and bumper pull for anything. But, you will have
more "restrictions" as to the truck to pull this time of set up as to
goosenecks. We have a 1 ton, dually, 4x4, ext. cab with a 9.5' Shadow
Cruiser Camper, and pull a 4 horse steel Circle J slant load. A truck
smaller could not handle this size camper horse trailer combo. We also like
to go camping without the horses, (gasp!) or be able to take the boat to go
fishing.(double gasp!) We did not want to take a horse trailer with us when
we wanted to leave the horses at home for a weekend of camping. The camper
is plenty big for the two of us. Unless the weather is poor, we spend most
of the time outside until it is time to fix a meal, or go to sleep. Also, it
is not a big deal to take the camper off the truck to use the truck without
the camper. I can remove (or for that matter install) the camper by myself
in about 30 min. If we only did horse shows, and did not like to go camping,
I would consider a gooseneck with living quarters, but thats not what we
enjoy.

Jonni in So. California where we are expecting wind. Ah, but wind means
clear skies and sunshine!
