Yes, they must be 60 months of age.  Especially with a young horse, a vet
or ride manager or somebody may ask to see proof.  Carry a copy of your
registration papers or pedigree with you just in case!  It might offend you
to be asked (it did me-I knew his birthdate) but I suppose there might be
somebody out there who might think it's not a big deal.  Our fellow will be
5 in June...our ride season will start in May and he will do a few 25s (LD
and comp) throughout the season...I doubt we will ride him on his first
fifty until July or even August.  In fact I'd like to see him do back to
back 25s before I take him on his first fifty.  Anyway, you could be asked
so be prepared and good luck!!
