Ohio Valley Equestrian Trails Symposium February 10-11, 2001

Calling all trails enthusiasts! Due to popular support, the Kentucky Horse Council is proud to bring you the third annual symposium dedicated solely to trails issues, the Ohio Valley Equestrian Trails Symposium (OVETS). The event will be held February 10-11, 2001 at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne in Louisville, Kentucky. This symposium offers an opportunity for trails enthusiasts from all over the Ohio valley region to come together to discuss common opportunities and problems and to keep abreast of current trail issues and research.

This is not a policy or planning meeting, but an educational symposium directed at equestrian trail users. Those attending will learn about subjects including waterborne zoonotic pathogens of equine origin, fundraising for trails projects to critically understanding research in our quest to keep and develop new trails. The growing pressure on public lands and the wealth of misinformation about horse riding make it essential that the equestrian community become organized and pro active in defending and promoting our tradition of riding in America's open spaces.

We invite anyone and everyone with an interest in trails to attend this 1 1/2 day conference. The fee for attending is $75 (payable to the Kentucky Horse Council) and includes continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday. A $15 late fee will be charged after January 15th. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. The program begins at 9:00 a.m Saturday and concludes by 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

OVETS will be held at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne in Louisville, Kentucky. (502-426-2600 or 1-800-HOLIDAY). If you wish to make reservations at the hotel for overnight stay, please be sure to mention that you are with the Ohio Valley Equestrian Trails Symposium to receive our group rate of $74 00.
