Getting ready - a tour of the Bryce Canyon Surrounding Areas

Dave Rabe said Z looked great when I trotted him out for the vet. We took about 10 hours, or a 9 hour ride time. It was a great day, perfect weather and Z is such a sweetheart to ride. I rode him in the Freeform for the first time on a ride and it works great for him! I also used Comfort Pads in his Epics and was glad, as it kept him from getting footsore from all of the rocks on the trail.

Here are quite a few more photos from today. We had a great ride, got a little (okay a LOT) wet. The bottom part of the album has several photos from the park that my husband took today as well.
Today was BBQ'd hot dog day at the lunch stop. I saw the clouds early this morning so luckily added a rump rug to my saddle, and raingear -- sure did come in handy! Yesterday Duane told me that Cheefy had been leaping four feet (on all four!) in the air when I left for the ride on Zenos, so today they all wanted to know what he was like when I got on and rode him -- I'm happy to report that he was very well behaved all day, kept all four feet on the ground and his brain engaged all day. Didn't even jump when the thunder and lightning were right on top of us. Looking forward to day 3. I bet Chief keeps all four feet on the ground when he gets left tomorrow, hehe.

rode Zenos today, he's coming along nicely. For the last two days I haven't used vetwrap under the horses gaiters, and it's worked really well, no rubs. It was so muddy this morning I didn't think I could get things cleaned up enough. It threatened to rain on us but we only got a few very light sprinkles on the way in to the finish.
