Almost any Western catalog should carry girth guards that fit over a
standard western girth ring. They look like leather booties that slide
over the girth ring. Another possibility, depending on how the rigging
is set up, you could use cavalry-style guards. These were fleece backed
leather that snapped onto the girth ring. There is a site that
specializes in antique Military saddles and would have a picture on the
net....

Hooks Saddlery of Kalispell, Montana has VERY nice girth protectors.
You can look them up in directory assistance. It's a very good custom
saddle shop. Most folks haven't heard of them as they make a very
limited number of high quality saddles.
