Get some clear contact paper. Sandwich the map between two pieces of the
contact paper. If you cut the contact paper about an inch or so larger
than the map all the way around you'll have yourself a nice waterproof
map. I like to put a hole in the contact paper and put string through it
and hang the map from my neck so I don't have to keep digging into my
pockets for it. If the map is really big I cut it into fours and make 4
small maps. When I've moved from one page to another I tear it off my
string and shove it into my pocket.
If you don't want to go through the hassle of measuring the contact paper
and peeling off the backing and getting wrinkles out of the contact
paper, take the map to the nearest Kinkos and have it laminated.
On another subject entirely...remember earlier this summer when Bill
Fortner made up all those cute songs? I had a friend of mine set them to
music. I sent the tape to Bill today. My friend doesn't have the worlds
greatest voice, but Bills songs are so funny you hardly notice when her
voice hits a klinker. You don't notice at all if you sing along with the
tape! For those of you that know Bill and Dee get him to play the tape
for you. Maybe Dee will take it to a ride or two. They really are
funny.
