You take a big, well-muscled Thoroughbred that looks like Arnold 
Schwartzenegger and, over months of liomited diet and hard work, turn it into 
Woody Allen. The result: a horse that once used to dehydrate badly and 
exhibit slow recoveries now doesn't dehydrate at all, recovers with flying 
colors, wins a major race--but looks like a shipwreck--at the START of the 
race. How come?
