CATRON COUNTY HERITAGE FESTIVAL
OLD MAIL TRAIL RIDE (approx. 16 miles - very slow paced)

May 27, 2000

Meet for a picnic supper ($5.00) Friday evening, May 26, 6:30 pm at Luna
Rodeo Grounds, 1 mi. north of Luna on Forest Road 19. Hot dogs, beans,
roasted potatoes, rolls, drinks and dessert (or bring your own meat to grill.)

Campfire Sing, pickin' an' grinnin'. Bring an instrument if you have one!

Overnight campers welcome at the Rodeo Grounds.

Next morning, May 27, ride on down to the Granary Cafe in Luna for Breakfast
Burrito ($2.00) and coffee between 7:30 and 8:30.

At 8:30 mount up and follow the Old Mail Trail over the mountain to Catron
County Fairgrounds in Reserve. Ride is approximately 6 hrs.

Lonesome Dove BarBQ ($5.00) will be served on top at noon, or bring your own
lunch.

Trail is rough. Shod horses recommended. Jacket, rain gear and canteen of
water suggested.  This is a hard ride, steep climbs & tough terrain, but beautiful!
