Our guide
speaks fluent Swahili, and is intimately
acquainted with the wildlife.
The Maasai, still living
much as they did in bygone centuries, guarding
their
cattle from lion with spears, retain their fierce pride
and the
strength of their culture. We will share camp
with them, and feel a
part of age-old Africa. They
welcome our visit as a economic boon to
their land
preservation program.
Elephant, giraffe, rhino, cape buffalo, lion - some we will nearly rub shoulders with on horseback - some study from the safety of a land rover.
The 15 day adventure includes 11 days on horseback, and ends with three days at Longonot Ranch House. Camp while on safari is unbelievably comfortable , with shower tents, dinners at a linen-clothed table complete with wine and freshly baked bread. The mounts are surefooted horses of Arabian origin which are very capable of carrying us for 300 miles through Maasailand .
A safari on horseback is truly the adventure of a lifetime!
