SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 6 2008

WESTBANK, BC, CANADA

50 mile AERC sanctioned  ride

Base camp is located at the Telemark X-Country Ski Club in Westbank (just south of Kelowna), B.C.  Trails are well marked, include moderate elevation and the footing is good.

• Vetting in will start at 3:00 pm on Friday.  (Dr. Michael Peterson, Head Vet’)
• Start time:   Sat. at 7 a.m.  POTLUCK and awards Sat. evening.
• All vet checks are in camp.  Horse water is provided from Friday noon on .  Bring potable water.

Entry Fee: 50 miles $80; add $10 for entries after August 30, 2008.   Juniors receive $10 off. (please email your pre-reg before Aug. 30 to  pcarnegie@care2.com )

DIRECTIONS: From the south take Highway 97 South towards Kelowna.  Take the Glenrosa exit (Just past Highway 97C (The Connector).  There are signs for Crystal Mountain ski resort there too.  Follow Glenrosa Road approximately 7 K till you see the Telemark X-Country Trails sign.  Turn left and follow the road through the parking lot.  There is parking before the lodge and some past the lodge.

From the north take 97 through Kelowna, cross the bridge and go through Westbank until  you see the signs for Crystal Mountain and Glenrosa.  Turn right and follow as above.

From the West take 97C from Merritt towards Kelowna.  When you exit off 97C to 97S (south) take the next exit onto Glenrosa Road.  Follow as above.

From the east make your way to Kelowna and follow the directions as above.
