Phase 1 a 16.5 mile loop leaving base camp and arriving at Sierra del Rio Ranch vet check. All riders will start at 5:30AM at first light. You will ride up Bates Creek Rd for the first 4 miles, some rocky sections. 2-track, sand washes, and dirt road (Oregon Trail). There are some rocky sections, generally in short sections. At 5.2 miles there will be a .7 mile stretch of pavement (shoulder riding optional)Vetcheck at Sierra del Rio Ranch.

Phase 2 a 15.5 loop - out to the Snake River around Wild Horse Butte, and back to the ranch for vetcheck. Mostly good footing, some rock, primarily along river. Two places along the river where horses can water. No hauled water on this trail, and no crewing allowed.

Phase 3 21.3 mile leg back to Base Camp. Follow same trail as Phase 1 for first 10 miles, then gravel and dirt roads. Final section will have 3+ miles of x-country and single track trail on a sage brush ridge top, steep trail down to Pickett Creek crossing, and then dirt road into Base camp. 50 milers will finish here

Phase 4 is a 18.5 mile loop, trail and sand wash south of camp, gravel road, good 2-track trail, creek crossings, and 1.9 miles of pavement (right shoulder is good alternative). Sand road, wash and trail back to camp.

Phase 5 repeat Phase 4.

Phase 6 10 mile loop, single track trail, dirt road, x-country and trail on sage brush ridge (same as end of Phase 3). Drop down to Pickett Creek and finish up on good road 1.8 miles into Base Camp.

note: the x-country stretch (about 1 mile)- we will heavily flag the best route, footing is good and safe, and it will be a 'trail' by the time the 100's repeat for final loop.
