Canada’s Largest Ever Distance Riding Event Planned

Canadian Championships are going to be a huge event. It has something for everyone. It will be the first ever Canadian Endurance Championships. There will be both a 100 mile and 50 mile championship separated by two days of the Canadian Competitive Trail Ride Championship, which is a two day 40 mile each day ride.

For those of you with AHA (formally IAHA) sweepstake horses or just registered Arabians or part-breds, we have, for the first time in Canada, the Arabian Horse Association National Championships for endurance. The Region 17 Championship for competitive trail will also be held in conjunction with this event.

The 100 mile event on July 30th will be the Canadian Championship, the AHA (IAHA) National Championship, AERC sanctioned and will be an FEI Star *** ride. Entry does not have to be into all events.

The two day Canadian Competitive Trail Ride Championship (CCTRC) on July 31st and August 1st has been held in the past and will follow the same format as in the past, with individual and provincial team competitions. July 31st will be the AHA (IAHA) Region 17 Championship. There will be 40 mile each day rides as well as a shorter distance offered.

The 50 mile endurance Canadian Championship on August 2nd will also be AERC sanctioned.

This premiere Canadian event is planned for Spruce Woods Park, Manitoba, which is dead centre of the continent. It was the site of the 1999 Pan Am Endurance Championships. We will be erecting a huge tent and there will be vendor space available. This is an equestrian campground so everyone is welcome to come as early as you like. There is a camping fee of $14/night but during the competition it will be reduced to $10/night from July 28th to August 3rd. There are showers and limited corrals but lots of space for your own corrals or electric fencing. We will be allowing electric fencing for the event.

There will be of course be banquets and social evenings planned as well. For further information please contact :
