Boy are you flaming! I didn't say it wasn't an issue, rather that I was in
agreement with you that it was unthinkable that any mother would allow this.  

Because my own opinion is that the mother was damn foolish and should be
jailed for felony child abandonment and child abuse.

 I was reluctant to respond because of my strong feelings on this but it
seemed better to let mothers respond to this issue  rather than me, a 60
year old grandmother who has seen this kind of foolish behavour so many
times I regret commenting for fear that both sides of this issue will self
destruct from self righteousness.
