Arthritis

My older mare has DJD in her fetlock - X-rays have confirmed the
beginning of arthritis in the joint. It is not causing any problems
right now and she has never been lame on that leg, but I am of course
now totally neurotic for my younger mare too. How many endurance riders
use the oral supplements, what do you use and do you think they do any
good??. I do not want to go the Adequan route as nothing has shown up
yet, but thought that the preventative route might be an option. IF I
could get Cosequin etc out here it probably would be exorbiatantly
expensive too. What is the best value for money and effectiveness?? I
tried an archive search , but the search engine does not seem to be
working at the moment..
