Aussie saddles

I've ridden in them for years - they are comfy and secure but are all built
differently so you really have to evaluate on an individual level. I have
one made by a top producer - it has a horrid seat that you either must lean
forward to get balanced or sit with your feet airplaning out in front of
you...and another that has the most balanced seat I've ever sat but was made
by a no-name company. The first has stood up to years of abuse, swimming,
dirt, and minimal care - the second is new so we'll see how it holds up.
Personally, I prefer an english saddle, but when working with a spooky or
new horse - or going a long distance - the aussie is my choice for comfort
and security.

Oh, and I gotta say - the ones with horns are just a pain - anyone know the
best way to saw the sucker off without damaging anything vital or messing
the saddle up horribly?

I like horses....it's their people I can't stand....
