Angie,

Theoretically, one should be able to place a closed fist between the thigh
and the poley.  If that condition is met, the poleys won't be contacted
when posting.  Also the poley angle varies by type of saddle--more
"upright" for distance, more angled back for other riders who need more
security and possibly don't even post like the gaited guys.
