Multi use trails in Finger Lakes National Forest in Hector, NY are being reviewed.
A trail that runs the length of the forest (about 13 mi.) was closed to everyone but hikers.
About 2 yrs ago, 2 mi. at the southern end
were reopened to multi-use.  Trail from the north end trail is still hiking only.  This trail has been repaired with landscape fabric and gravel to eliminate the muddy spots.
Trail users would like to get about 3mi of trail in the northern end reopened to allow greater access.  Meeting of user groups is to be held Feb. 22.  E-mails supporting this project should be sent to: elnorris@prodigy.com  For more info call Linda Pearsall at 607-280-0021 after 7PM.
