Uh...  I wouldn't say that foal heats are "more fertile..."  You are actually 
just prolonging the diestrus phase of the cycle, which is maintained by 
progesterone naturally.  The main advantages are that if the mare is low in 
progesterone, you are tightening the uterus a bit, and because you know when 
you stop the Regumate, you have a better idea where you are regarding the 
subsequent estrus and hence are less apt to miss the optimal breeding time.
