Ivermectin Dewormers

I have a question for the veterinarians concerning Ivermetin dewormers.
What side-effects have been noted with ivermectin. is there any evidence of
it as an immuno-suppressant? I ask this because a person on another list is
question my use of this dewormer. So I thought it best to ask professionals.
Also are any other animals besides collies severely affected by this
dewormer? i know that it is an ingredient in some heartworm medicines for
dogs, and has been used on all different kinds of animals, but just want to
get some oppinions on the effects on this product. Thanks.
