You have to open the PrettyPark.exe attached file to be infected. There are
no viruses (or worms) that can be transmitted via e-mail directly to an
e-mail program that is properly functioning. There is a bug in Outlook
Express that could allow that, but there is a patch to correct that bug
available on Microsofts web site: see
http://www.microsoft.com/security/Bulletins/ms99-032.asp. (The patch was
posted a month before the first virus exploiting it was discovered.) In fact
there are several security type bugs for which there are patches available
at Microsoft for IE, Windows, and OE. See
http://www.microsoft.com/security/bulletins/current.asp. This site also
contains information for a wide variety of internet products (Windows,
MacIntosh, Server Software), and not all are pertinent to any given system.
You have to filter through them. If you use a different browser/e-mail
progam, check the appropriate website for similar information.
